The State of Black Ohio will feature a keynote address from Jody Armour in addition to a series of racial equity focused panel discussions exploring solutions to crucial current issues in the areas of economic development, education, and health and housing  to help bring action and resources to African American communities across the State and the United States as a whole.

The State of Ohio Collective is comprised of thought leaders, educators, university professors, entrepreneurs, health professionals, and strategists focused on providing racial equity solutions in 8 key metropolitan cities throughout the state of Ohio, with the highest concentrated numbers of African Americans: Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, and Youngstown.

Terris Todd is the newly appointed Executive Director for the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans. He comes to us from Battle Creek, Michigan, where he lives with his wife and three daughters. Law Professor, Scholar, Author

Jody David Armour is the Roy P. Crocker Professor of Law at the University of Southern California. Armour’s expertise ranges from personal injury claims to claims about the relationship between racial justice, criminal justice, and the rule of law.
